Water Trails – Tillamook Oregon
An educational and rewarding outdoor experience can be found paddling along Tillamook County’s many water trails. A water trail can best be described as a mapped out path within a body of water, which is clearly marked by signs and has designated access points. Over the years, the Tillamook Estuaries Partnership has worked closely with the Tillamook County Water Trail (TCWT) in an effort to create a trail that includes all of Tillamook County’s five estuaries and the watersheds that accompany them. Intertwined with inlets and sloughs, the Tillamook Bay watershed links five distinctive rivers together: The Miami River, the Kilchis River, the Wilson River, the Trask River, and the Tillamook River. These waterways are rich with history, serving as an essential piece of the transportation system for early Tillamook Bay natives. An enjoyable paddling experience for all, the Tillamook Bay water trails are a low-impact way to explore the incredible ecosystems within these diverse waterways.
